Selecting the right natural stone fireplace mantel for your project can be a very satisfying experience - if you are properly prepared. Before you stop by our nearest store, just follow these few simple steps.
1) Measure your firebox size.
We will gladly assist you in figuring out the right mantel for your firebox. A simple drawing of your room layout with the firebox dimension is a great help too! Please refer to forms “STANDARD DIMENSION FORM—WOOD BURING” and “STANDARD DIMENSION FORM—GAS BURING” for details.
2) Measure your wall size.
Pay attention to the distance measure from the top of the mantel shelf to the ceiling(or crown molding) if you plan to install overmantel or plasma T.V on that area. We also need the measurement if your firebox is raised above the sub floor,
3) Bring in samples of other decor.
A piece of paint color sample, hardwood floor, tile or natural stone tile sample will help us find the perfect match for your fireplace. If the items is to big like a decorative mirror, picture, or plasma T.V, a photo with dimension will help.
4) Take a photo of your room or project.
This makes it a lot easier to pick colors, styles, theme, and anticipate any installation obstacles. Also, pay attention to any architectural details of your room, for examples, and arch shape entry way, ceiling molding, window styles and etc.
5) Have a budget in mind.
We want to help you achieve the look you want within a comfortable budget. For instance, if you have your heart set on a ornate mantel but you can't afford it, we'll help you find something in your price range that achieves a similar look.
